No Famous Black Magicians?
A few weeks ago I was thinking about magicians... you know, Chris Angel, Houdini, Penn and Teller etc... I love Penn and Teller, never been a C. Angel or Blaine fan. But anyways...
I realized that I couldn't think of any famous magicians that are black. I don't mean "black magic," I mean African American.
Blaine is not black. He is half Puerto Rican and half Russian/Jewish. Houdini was Jewish/Hungarian. P. C. Sorcar was Indian.
Is there racism in the world of magicians.. or are African Americans just not as interested in magic and sleight of hand as other races are? I am intrigued by this and would love some comments from other folks. Am I looking over some well known and famous black magicians? I have skimmed through many websites listing the "Top Ten" and do not see any.

goldfinger and dove. Kirk Charles. Smoothini, the ghetto Houdini, are 3 black magicians that come to mind from the states.
Here in teh uk, we have Michael Vincent , recognised globaly as one of teh finest sleight of hand artists there is. Granted, the popular top ten magicians dont have that many ethnic magicians in it, but to the world of magic, many of those that we hold dear, are black, japanese, Indian, and arabic.
also, Greg wilson, carl andrews, chris capeheart, ( one of the true greats of childrens magic)..
